This Egg Tadka is a simple yet flavorful appetizer that’s perfect for any occasion! The combination of spices and ghee brings out the rich flavors of the eggs. Enjoy this delicious dish as a snack or a side!
Ingredients:
6 eggs
2 tablespoons ghee
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
4-6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
2-3 dry red chillies, broken into pieces
2 sprigs curry leaves
2 tablespoons chutney podi (spiced chutney powder)
¾ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves (cilantro)
Instructions:
Boil the Eggs:
Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let them simmer for about 10-12 minutes. Once done, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool. Peel and set aside.
Prepare the Tadka:
In a pan, heat the ghee over medium heat. Once hot, add the mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Add Aromatics:
Add the sliced garlic, broken dry red chillies, and curry leaves to the pan. Sauté for a minute or until the garlic turns golden brown and fragrant.
Add Chutney Podi and Salt:
Stir in the chutney podi and salt, mixing well to combine the flavors.
Add the Eggs:
Cut the boiled eggs in half and gently place them in the pan, cut side up. Spoon the tadka mixture over the eggs, allowing them to absorb the flavors.
Garnish:
Sprinkle the chopped coriander leaves over the top for a fresh finish.
Serve:
Serve the Egg Tadka warm as an appetizer or snack. Enjoy!
