The Delicious Savory Puff Pastry Bites 🍄🧀

Ingredients:
– 1 cup finely diced mushrooms
– 1 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or mozzarella)
– 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
– 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
– 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
– 1 tsp garlic powder
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh herbs (such as thyme or parsley), chopped, for garnish

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced mushrooms until they are soft and any moisture has evaporated, about 5-7 minutes. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

3. In a medium bowl, mix together the sautéed mushrooms, shredded cheese, and cream cheese until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

4. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface until it’s smooth and thin. Cut the pastry into squares, each approximately 3×3 inches.

5. Place a generous spoonful of the mushroom and cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square. Be careful not to overfill them!

6. Fold the corners of the pastry squares over the filling to create triangles or envelopes. Pinch the edges to seal tightly.

7. Brush the top of each pastry with the beaten egg for a beautiful golden finish.

8. Arrange the filled pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed.

9. Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped herbs before serving.
